Rewards Cards

If cost savings is important to you - especially when it comes to vacation travel cost, then the following travel rewards credit cards is what I recommend:

1) Chase Sapphire Preferred

Comes with a $95 annual fee (if approved, you'll need to pay it upfront), but it has so many protections benefits that it justifies the annual expense. Sign-up bonus is typically 60,000 Chase Ultimate Reward points - if you spend $4,000 in the first three months. This will get you a minimum of a $750 value if you redeem for travel through Chase. 2x the points for travel purchases and dining. 1x the points for most other purchases.

2) Chase Freedom Unlimited

Not only is this card fee free, but offers usually include a sign-up bonus after spending your first $500. Certain categories of spending will get you 5% cash back! If you're looking for the ultimate freedom card, whether it's for everyday use, or travel, this card has serious earning potential. Check out all the current details and offering to maximize your potential earnings.

3) Business Unlimited Ink

If you own or operate a business as a sole proprietor, you may sign up for this business credit card with no annual fee! Currently, they are offering their best sign-up bonus if you spend $6k in the first 3 months of account opening.

In addition to the two Chase cards mentioned above, another credit card we use strategically, albeit sparingly:

AAdvantage Citi Card

Comes with a $95 annual fee (waived for the first year). This card is beneficial for two reasons: the sign-up bonus (usually 50,000 points),and Citi is the exclusive partner for American Airlines. This means the points earned on this card can transfer directly to your American Airlines account. I've found that a lot of flights cost less when using AA points than when paying cash. That being said, after the first year of having the card, I would probably downgrade to avoid keeping the $99 annual fee.

Disclaimer: I'm not being paid by the companies listed above; however, if you sign up and are approved, I may receive bonus points for referring you the credit card, at no additional expense to you. I'm just sharing from my personal experience what cards are most beneficial.
